Depart the pier for the short walk to your rigid-inflatable boat. Upon arrival, receive your safety and riding instructions, then put on your life vests before setting out on your 1 hour RIB-boat or Zodiac safari.
Fast, fun and agile RIB safari boats, as well as the smaller but also fast Zodiacs, have opened up new and exciting travel possibilities, especially here in the Vestmannaeyjar (Western Islands), where boats sail from Heimaey Island on exploratory journeys of mysterious caves and small islets. Vestmannaeyjar is an archipelago off Iceland’s south coast, and was formed by underwater volcanic eruptions. The youngest island, Surtsey, was formed in 1963. Heimaey is the largest and only inhabited island. It has two volcanoes, Helgafell and Eldfell.
The Vestmannaeyjar Archipelago is renowned for its diverse birdlife and interesting geological history. You will ride past caves, islets and unusual rock formations that have been shaped by the interplay of the sea and volcanic activity.
[There will be one local RIB boat, followed by 2-3 Seaventure Zodiacs. The experience will be the same!]
